Day 8 – A Writer’s Journey

Eight days down and i have 8,297 words onto paper. Whilst this is over 1000 words a day, i would have preferred to have more. I say this because the majority of this word count was carried out over 2-3 days as thereafter, life very much got in the way.

Life sure does like to stop your writing process sometimes and ruin a streak that you may have been on. Never mind. Another weekend, another opportunity arises!

  1. As long as you have some progress, it’s good. From experience pushing for the wordcount is not always the best, better build up a routine so that life intereferes with the writing less and less.
So be proud of your wordcount, don’t stress it and keep going! 🙂

    1. Indeed. Personally, word count is purely used as a motivational tool. I know that truly it doesn’t matter. After all, its quality, not quantity. I could re-write the dictionary, but i doubt it would be a compelling read.

      1. Yeah. I like having my goal of 1k words daily (in the end the more you produce, the more you practice the craft), but I don’ strive for beating the records. Quite to the contrary: I tend to stop shortly after the mark, even if I’m in the middle of a scene.
